I love the open fire, the warmth of it as it crackles and heats up my face and hands.

Staying in doors rugged up in bed or on the couch with a blanket watching movies. Having hot coffee or hot chocolate. Being with my family. I dont go outdoors much in winter. Being by a fire too is so lovely.

You can wear warm, snuggly clothes and light a fire.

Rain water drys clear, summer sweat sticks. I know working out on the land I would rather be wet than be uncomfortable in sweat albeit we dont get a lot of choice like they do in the cities and towns. Someone has to do the real work producing the food for those same people who think life is hard having to get food to eat in aircon comfort and then demand pay rises only to pay less to the farmers. Winter means Spring time production is coming to produce more from increased urban caused costs but paid less in real terms. But I would still prefer to be wet in winter on the land.

I love the food - stews and pastas, mashed potatoes and roasted meats, and I love the clothes - warm knits and coats.
I also love how fresh the air smells on one of those really crisp, clear mornings!

Rain, soil smell after the rain. I like the type of meals we prepare in winter.

I love the movement of trees and the ocean and the sound of both in turbulent wind.
