Koalas Considered an Endangered Species

Koalas being native to Victoria, NSW, Qld and the ACT and introduced to SA are now considered an endangered species in NSW, Qld and the ACT as numbers plummet due to climate change, land clearing and disease.
For the people living in these jurisdictions, what do you feel about this and what do you see as viable solutions at a Local, State and Federal level?

There is also a disease that killed a lot of koalas.
Some perished in bushfires on KI a few years ago. CFS volunteers were giving them drinks of water straight out of their bottles when they found them. They and other volunteers rescued some that was taken to refuges that were filled to capacity, they took more in and were cared for. Some they bandaged their feet where they had run on burning surfaces. Being isolated the koalas don't catch the disease there
