Entry level jobs are harder to find now a days. How does one find an entry level job with no experience. Even after offering to volunteer. Begging does not work either or maybe because I am an American.

Deo, I don't believe it is because you are an American. I am 54 and looking for a career change. I have had my own business as a Remedial therapist for the past 12 years. I have been P&C president at my kids school, I have run major fundraising events, I was an execuative Director in Canada working in the Community Services sector, I have volunteered with St. Vinnies for two and a half years in their retail store in Brisbane attempting to increase my retail skills. I have recently volunteered to assist the Redcliffe Senior Computer Club in hopes of toning up admin and computer skills, even tho I am not a senior. I have applied for countless positions, with no response. I believe that looking for work has become a full time job in itself. Just hang in there and stay positive, someone is looking for you.

Carla,
Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, it is a full-time looking for job. I will keep looking for a job until I find one that suits me.

It's very hard to find a job with no experience. It's hard to get a foot in the door . Training can be very expensive. If you haven't a license it makes it harder. Getting a license can be expensive. At least by volunteering you are keeping busy and giving something to the community and it is a chance to show how capable and reliable you are. You never know who you might meet and who they might know. Through the grapevine you might hear of something. Word of mouth is still important.

That is true. That post was awhile back. But now I am doing a low skill job because it is really hard to find a career job and I could not afford to keep up with it. But I am always on the look out on a volunteer job. I hope your job hunting is coming better than my.
