Australia is so far being the world we are still exposes to foods that have been banned in many countries.
BPA coated cans which companies refuse to label these. We banned it for babies bottles. It can change.
BPA can also be found in epoxy resins which is used as coatings inside food and drinks cans. Bisphenol A is an endocrine disruptor - a substance which interferes with the production, secretion, transport, action, function and elimination of natural hormones.
There are 100's of others, however all the big food and drink companies that rule the government which is a sad fact.

I've heard about this a lot but haven't seen any research that shows it is harmful to people.

What stood out to me was this -
"After a four-year long review of 300 studies, the FDA concluded that "BPA is safe at the current levels occurring in food." The agency also stated, "the available information continues to support the safety of BPA for the currently approved uses in food containers and packaging"

I so agree.
I have a collection now of BPA free containers for leftovers, better than fiddling around with Glad Wrap!
Then the Govt. should be lobbied for mandatory labelling on the cans that are potentially toxic.

Many companies have a shady side.. they need to make a profit, need to employ folks, pay taxes etc.
But it is the dangerous side affects, that are important.
