Sept 11

Do you think people born on September 11 should have to see images of destruction every birthday? (It was a terrible thing to happen, but birthdays are supposed to be happy occasions, do you agree?)

Shannyn says: No of course not, but here's hoping while we don't forget (as it did change the western world as we know it), it's not the first thing on the news when the date rolls around this year. Reply

Rowdy says: Yes, every birthday I have to turn the TV off because it's like Ground-hog day every year and I think they should just get over it and stop feeding off people's grief. Reply

George says: not to have them rammed down their throats but to be informed they were born on a special day and commemorate the birthday principally. as they grow older they can make up their own minds. Reply

Paddemelon says: My daughter was born on the 11 of September coming up to 4 years ago, and although it was a very tragic loss for the families and love ones of the people who lost their lives in the Sept 11, there really should be a time where they celebrate the loss without all the media attention. Its time to accept what happened and start celebrating the lives of the people who are still with us today but not forgetting the ones that were lost Reply

You should have faith in God so that there is no destruction and /or if destruction comes you can handle it or you can surpass it.. you can live with it.. Reply

graeme says: How can anyone feel happy when they recall what happened on Sept. 11.
I was watching Tv when these events occurred.
I cannot describe my feeling at the time.
I called my wife, who with me watched events as they occurred.
I do not believe we should hide events under the carpet, and that we should remember all the people that were effected by this event.
We cannot let these people get away with what they did, but we should grieve with all that were effected. Reply

Volcano says: I agree that we should not forget the victims, but if we allow it to continue to affect our lives than I think we are perpetuating the pain caused by the events. I intend to keep holding my birthday on Sept 11 and treating it as a happy occassion, because I do not want to be another victim.

I think it would be terrible to die under such circumstances, but I would not want my death to mar other peoples happiness. Reply

vhengence.payne says: to say the media should not show what happend just because is is someones birthday is like saying that on anzac day (aus/nz) the media should not tribut the solders that lost their lives i dont belive the media dose this to put a dampener on this day but rather as a tribute to lives lost and to an event that is now a historical milestone and affects the way the future is shaped if you have a birthday on this date and dont wish to have this event impact the day just avoid watching the news or dedecated programs it is showing respect if your life was lost in such a world wide life altering event would you not feel proud that the media shows tribute to you loss or sacrifice Reply
