Animals australia

I support this cause with conviction. I am so against the trade in live animals to countries who do not treat them with respect and in fact slaughter animals in the most inhumane way. It took Animals Australia to bring this shocking treatment of animals to the attention of Australians as the industry are more interested in their massive profits than in what was happening to the cattle once they left our shores. They have known for years what was happening and yet did nothing except put into the abatoirs in Indonesia a cruel "box" that the animal is put into. This box only made the slaughter even more inhumane. I have watched the Live Meat Ass. try to justify this practise by saying they did not know. I am not convinced that is true. I am hoping the trade will be stopped and that at last this country will stand up to the demands of foreign countries. They like our beef then buy it in a pre packed box!

CAT17 says: Hi TATTY! I am very serious about spreading the word about this hideous trade. You and anyone can do their part in writing emails to your local member expressing your horror at this trade. I have joined Animals Australia and get updates on what they are doing. The RSPCA are also committed to stop the slaughter of animals in this inhumane way. Thanks for replying to my "chat" Reply

TATTY says: My dear new friend,
I belong to many many animal charities, and they are always sending me partitions to sign, which I also forward on to my animal loving friends. I don't have a lot of money as I donate to all of them as well.
My dream is to win Lotto, and help all of our animal friends.

Lu says: Wow Tatty your words are so similar to my thoughts. The first thing I would do if I won lotto or something similar is donate a large chunk of it to animal charities such as animals australia and the rspca and I spend a fair amount of my time signing petitions, sending letters and even attended 2 animal rallies last year (they were the best 2 days of my year last year as it felt so good getting out there and showing my support for the animals).

CAT17 says: Hi Lu you are definitely one of us who believe animals deserve to be treated humanely. Join Animals Australia (at no cost) and add your support to them by writing to government (the PM doesn't answer but others do) it is quite interesting to know just how many politicians are also very much against live animal trade. I wish I could donate lots of money too, but I do what I can and that's all we need to do. I'M FOR ANIMALS! Reply

CAT17 says: Hi jan thanks for your reply. Apparently there are overseers sent from here to make sure that animals are treated humaely - but as you say "out of sight"" what we need to do is join with Animals Australia (they have a great web site) and the RSPCA and keep the pressure on. There is no need to send live animals to overseas buyers, we can slaughter them here and send chilled meat. Why Australia bows down to the demands of other coutries I will never understand. It is the might of the dollar that comes first. We need to keep a watch out here too as there is plenty of cruelty going on. The pork industry for one and ofcourse the chicken/egg industries. Be conscious of how the food you eat is killed and ask questions before you buy. I do and even though I am not pollular with some butchers (who cares) I want to know that the animals are being treated with respect. I'M FOR ANIMALS! Reply

CAT17 says: Hi TATTY yes they are on FB but also they have a very good web site and you can join them to receive their newsletters and alerts as things happen. There is no cost, but of course you can donate. I will always follow up with any requests they make for writing to Politicians or others if asked and by us all giving support to such a good cause things can be changed. Berna says: All I can say is.... you had said it all! We should be humane to all animals. Thanks to Animals Australia who brought live animal export to our notice. Stop sending live animals overseas! I understand local farmers will loose money..... well our government can help, instead of looking for ways to ensure they are successful the next election. We should snot stress any living think, animal or human. Reply
