The current public service purge in Queensland is causing many problems, with many of those being made redundant facing life style changes, and the very real prospect of losing much of what they own.

In Newman's own words, It is what he inherited from the previous administration, I for one am a little tied of hearing it. The last election had the Labor party reduced to 7 MP's, which shows that the electorate already were acutely aware of Bligh's incompetence as a leader and administrator. There was also this growing belief that the Bligh government was not disclosing the full extent of Queensland's economic woes. To get back on track I think most knew that hard decisions needed to be made and as a result some would feel pain. But has he gone too far. Surveys show consumer confidence is low with the public service being not the only industry feeling the pinch.

Is there another factor at play, bearing in mind I believed Bligh's campaign for re-election was arguably quite dirty and very critical of Newman and his family's personal life.

I've been a conservative voter all my life, but than I have also known some good Labor leaders. But having friends and family in the public service and seeing what they are going through, I must say I am at a loss to justify what Mr Newman is doing.
