Considering they entitled to use lethal force, and are equipped to do so, should police officers be subject to mandatory drug and alcohol testing. After all you can't work in mining or even local government without being tested and with the amount of accidents and shootings the police are involved in should not this be the first order of the day?

Of course Police should be subject to drug and alcohol testing. In fact they are in a very responsible position and we all rely on them in emergencies so they should be subject to testing regularly. We can't have rules for some and rules for others.
