Sorry to hear about what happenend in your case. I don't know what state you are in. In SA they are vet checked, vaccinated and desexed before they are allocated to a new owner. Did you notify them what happened.??
In Adelaide they now desex both female and male dogs. The earlier they receive the dog if it has to happen the better, as they can more easily assess any behavioural problems caused my mistreatment. A neighbour of mine got one that was 7 months old when he was surrendered. We are sure he had been beaten as he becomes scared but very defensive if you have anything such as a toolbox, case or bottle in your hand which her dog is very wary and defensive of. Even if he knows the person and sees them on a regular basis, sometimes once a week. When they are put down, the dog settles and is very friendly and will even lay in your lap and go to sleep.
Help Caféstudy members by responding to their questions, or ask your own in Café Chat, and you will get the chance of earning extra rewards. Caféstudy will match these and donate equally to our two chosen Australian charities.
