I think that they're safe provided that you follow the directions exactly and do a skin test first. It also is essential that you choose the right colour too though - a black haired individual will have terrible results if they purchase blonde hair dye! It's important to read all the information thoroughly. That said, they're an excellent way to colour your hair for those who cannot afford going to the salon.
