High School

It seems to me that the transition from Primary to High School is a challenging one, made even greater by the fact that the new year 8's are being subjected to speeches about the enormity of the work load, the expectations, the need for immediate time management skills and independence. Could we not just tone it down for the first few weeks, offer encouragement and make sure that the students are settling in??

I am so glad that someone feels the same way. We are having a pretty tough time of it at the moment and I have wondered if I'm just being too soft. I have a fantastic relationship with my kids but schools and society try to keep telling me that teenagers are horrible!
