High School

It seems to me that the transition from Primary to High School is a challenging one, made even greater by the fact that the new year 8's are being subjected to speeches about the enormity of the work load, the expectations, the need for immediate time management skills and independence. Could we not just tone it down for the first few weeks, offer encouragement and make sure that the students are settling in??

I totally agree with you. Transistioning into high school is a delicate process and its so important to ensure that our young ones are given as much support to be able to deal with changes both physically and mentally.
Information overload can definitely burn young people out too fast, too soon.
