Do you wish Christmas would come and go quickly or do you look forward to it with great enthusiasm? Do you believe Christmas has lost its meaning given all the materialistic connotations associated with it or does it still have a special place in your heart?

I have mixed emotions about Christmas and I've spent it in many various places.
As a child, Christmas was always a joyous event with toys, goodies to eat and family and friends dropping in all day long for a cup of cheer and good wishes. I later joined the army and spent my first Christmas on duty in flooding rains. During my time in the army I spent many Christmases alone and also many at home on leave. Later with my own wife and family and friends and one eventful Christmas on patrol in Vietnam. That one I'll never forget. Since then I've had some joyful and some sad Christmases. Regrettably this one is going to be a sad affair but there will be others that will be joyful to make up for it. I now just accept each Christmas on it's own merits as it comes along.
