Do you wish Christmas would come and go quickly or do you look forward to it with great enthusiasm? Do you believe Christmas has lost its meaning given all the materialistic connotations associated with it or does it still have a special place in your heart?

To me Christmas has always been about family and food. Over the last few years as our children have grown into adulthood we as a family have taken the emphasis off the presents and shifted it towards being together and eating together. We still buy presents but only for the little ones (some of us still have wee ones) and also one gift for an adult. That way we all get one gift and that's it. I never look forward to Christmas and can take or leave the whole decoration thing usually, but this year in September I moved to Australia, me, my partner and Ruby, so it will just be the three of us for dinner, and I've decided to decorate in a big way tree and lights and fill the empty space where my very large family would be if I was home. We have to keep it together for Ruby because kids make Christmas worthwhile don't they. And thanks cafestudy for making our Christmas a little less stressful.
