Do you wish Christmas would come and go quickly or do you look forward to it with great enthusiasm? Do you believe Christmas has lost its meaning given all the materialistic connotations associated with it or does it still have a special place in your heart?

Up to the age of about 12 I used to look forward to Christmas, but after that I grew to dislike it more and more. It has no religious significance for me and I have grown to hate the period. It might be different if I had kids, but apparently there are more family disputes and and anger expressed by families at this time of the year than at any other. The best Christmas in recent years was spent entirely by myself. I went to the beach with a good book, had a surf in the sunshine, came home, watched TV for a while and went to bed bed early. I didn't talk to anyone all day. It was a great time for me. The older I get the more misanthropic I get and the happier I get !
